2019年11月25日（月）から29日（金）にかけて、テュービンゲン大学（ドイツ）にて、同志社大学とテュービンゲン大学の共催によるDoshisha Weekが開催されました。
赤ちゃん学研究センターでは、11月29日（金）に“Baby Science: Past, Present, and Future”と題したシンポジウムを行いました。
シンポジウムでは板倉 昭二 教授（赤ちゃん学研究センター センター長）や孟 憲巍 助教（研究開発推進機構）による講演のほか、言語獲得、身体・表情認知、霊長類学などの研究分野の研究者による講演も行われ、赤ちゃん学という学際的学問分野の発展に寄与する豊かな研究交流の場になりました。

Doshisha University Center for Baby Science held a symposium titled “Baby Science: Past, Present, and Future”, as a part of the Doshisha Week, which was co-hosted by University of Tübingen to advance creativity and collaboration in research from November 25th to 29th, 2019 at the University of Tübingen.
Prof. Shoji Itakura (Director of Center for Baby Science) and Dr. Xianwei Meng (Assistant Professor of Organization for Research Initiatives and Development) provided lectures on early development of social cognition in humans.
Other lectures were given by researchers from various research fields such as language acquisition, body/emotion-recognition, primatology. These sessions followed by active discussions contributed to future research possibility and collaboration of Baby Science.

12月5日に赤ちゃん学カフェを開催しました。
今回は京都国際社会福祉センター発達研究所の大谷多加志先生をお招きし、「発達のフシギ ～人はなぜ、いつ、どのように育つのか～」をテーマにお話ししていただきました。
発達検査の紹介や、こどもが育っていく発達のふしぎについて、現在子育て中の保護者のみなさんに興味を持っていただけるようなお話しを聞くことができました。
発達検査の紹介では、5つの検査を紹介していただきました。その中でも、8か月前後には獲得するといわれている「対象の永続性」については、実際にお子さん達におもちゃの上にタオルをかけて、そのおもちゃが見えなくなってもそこにあるとわかる状態＝対象の永続性を体験してもらいました。
また、何もできない赤ちゃんは右肩上がりに発達していくと思いがちだけれど、以前はできていた、わかっていたことができなくなったりと、子どもは行ったり、戻ったりしながら育っている。これぐらいはできるだろういう大人の感覚とは違うということを教わり、なるほどと思いました。
子どもの成長の原動力は、好奇心！という言葉に、子育てをするうちに忘れかけていた子どもの力にはっとさせられる場面もありました。
最後に先生から良い子育って？完璧な子育てはあるの？という、親なら一度は感じる疑問について、完璧な子育てはありませんよ。関心をもって見てあげること、また、他者への信頼や自分への信頼を教えてあげることが良い子育てへと繋がるとアドバイスいただきました。
大谷先生の優しい笑顔と素敵な語り口、また、会場でハイハイで動き回るお子さん達の愛くるしい姿に心和む赤ちゃん学カフェとなりました。
10月27日に『赤ちゃん学フェスティバル2019』を開催させていただきました。このイベントは調査にご協力いただいている方々をはじめ、子育て中のおとうさんやおかあさん、地域の皆様に私たちの研究活動を知っていただき、赤ちゃん学研究センターをより身近に感じていただけることを目的としております。

今回で3回目の開催となった赤ちゃん学フェスティバル。今年も、たくさんの方にご来場いただきスタッフ一同大変嬉しく思っております。
