Currently, various issues relating to children’s minds are becoming social issues, and in order to sort these issues out, it is necessary to conduct research with a holistic approach to study the development or relationship between the minds and bodies of children to detect a root cause of those problems. As a center of Baby Science, our focus with ‘Baby Science’ as a new study area aims to merge various study areas such as Pediatrics, Developmental Science, Developmental Neurology, Brain Science, Education, Nursery, Physics, Robotics, and Ethics. These study areas include wide ranges of variations, such as functions of babies’ movements, senses・perceptions, recognition, language, or sociality; babies’ developmental processes and finding the mechanism of its hurdles to support the development of their mind; and further, human rights regarding foetuses, newborns and infants. Everyone was a baby once. We believe that solving mysteries hidden in babies carefully but boldly will lead to understand “human”.
