Message from the Director

Doshisha University Center for Baby Science is an institute named ‘Baby Science’ for the first time in the world. Baby Science refers to the research areas that study all stages (from foetus to neonates, infants, and toddlers), investigating what we believe to be the beginning of the origins of human life, as well as the developmental processes and mechanisms that promote it. One of our center’s main goals is to return knowledge gained from basic research to society in close cooperation with local governments and businesses. In September 2019, I took over from Professor Yukuo Konishi as the head of the center. I will continue to promote the legacy of the Center for Baby Science that was started by Professor Konishi. I will continue efforts to disseminate the results of Baby Science throughout the world and to apply the results within our communities for the benefit of all children. We look forward to your continued support in the future.
